Hollywood has been put on notice by women who are no longer going to stand in the shadows. Big name celebs have been called out from their unprofessional behavior, leaving a lot of upcoming projects in question. From Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein to House of Cards star Kevin Spacey to now Transparent star, Jeffrey Tambor.
What makes this even more shocking is that these allegations come straight from the set of the hit Amazon show, where Tambor plays a transgender matriarch named Maura Pfefferman. The alleged sexual harassment has been brought to light by Trace Lysette, who plays Shea, a good friend of Maura.
The actress took to Twitter to share her truth. In her post, she noted that the Emmy-award winning actor had made continuous sexually-pointed remarks towards his coworker. In great detail, she remembers one time during the second of the show’s four seasons that things got physical.
While filming a scene in which she, Tambor, and co-star Alexandra Billings wore pajamas, the alleged assault took place.
Miss Lysette stated,
“I stood in a corner on the set as the crew reset for a wide shot. My back was against the wall in a corner as Jeffrey approached me. He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me, and began quick, discreet thrusts back and forth against my body.”
This statement came on the heels of another allegation made by a former assistant on Transparent, Van Barnes. After hearing about Barnes standing up for herself, Trace Lysette felt the strength to stick up for herself as well. Her full statement can be read here:
These allegations come not so long after Tambor won an Emmy for his role of Maura. In this role, the actor felt he has grown as a human. He stated.
“I think Maura has made me more aware, more present. Maura has made me a better parent, a better husband, a better citizen.”
The fate of the show is in question. However, Amazon is looking into continuing on, focusing on Maura’s family. Maura herself, would most likely be written out of the show.
