PlayStation Vue Losing Content?

PlayStation Vue is one of the more expensive ways to cut the cord. However, it has a vast catalog of content. That’s what makes PlayStation Vue so appealing for a person who is weaning off the cord in their household.

However, the appeal of PlayStation Vue may begin to wear off as the summer heat picks up. That’s because the streaming giant is running the risk of losing some of its most popular networks. Let’s take a look at this unfolding situation.

Which Stations Might Leave PlayStation Vue in June 2019?

June proves to be a big month for PlayStation Vue. They have four key contracts that are coming to an end by the conclusion of the month. Unfortunately for PlayStation Vue, these networks are all considering running their own streaming endeavor. Therefore, it seems like renewal is unlikely.

The four corporations that are entering into last-hour negotiations include:

  • AMC Networks (AMC, IFC, Sundance, We)
  • Discovery Communications (Discovery, HGTV, OWN, Scripps Local Affiliates, TLC)
  • NBCUniversal (Bravo, CNBC, E!, NBC, USA)
  • Turner Networks (Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT)

As you can see, that’s a lot of content that might be leaving PlayStation Vue. With NBC being the next possible exit, ABC shouldn’t be too long to follow. After all, Disney is starting their own streaming service. Not to mention, they are doing quite well with their ESPN+ over-the-top (OTT) launch.

Speaking of ESPN+, while that sports giant isn’t looking at negotiations with PlayStation Vue, another huge sport entity is. Let’s take a look at who might be leaving PlayStation Vue in July 2019?

Which Station Might Leave PlayStation Vue in July 2019?

While PlayStation Vue has a lot of negotiations to deal with these coming weeks, they’re not out of the woods yet. PlayStation Vue will enter last-minute negotiations with the NFL Network to maintain the football service on their platform.

Losing NFL Network would be a pretty big blow for PlayStation Vue, but it wouldn’t be the death knell. They promote live sports as one of its biggest selling points.

Even if the NFL Network leaves PlayStation Vue, you would still have these sports options under the Core Package:
