Hulu Live TV keeps growing as it expands its beta phase into a real-life roll out. One of these major changes is how it operates its DVR system. The Vice President of Product at Hulu, Richard Irving briefed investors and customers on the full update to Hulu’s DVR system in a blog post.
“As a company full of TV-obsessed enthusiasts, we’re always looking for new ways to add more features to our products that simplify, personalize and optimize the Hulu viewing experience based on your feedback. One area that we’re particularly excited to focus on is Cloud DVR. Our vision for our Cloud DVR is to provide you with highly customizable, intuitive recording options and features to reflect your relationship to each title.”
For instance, when you used to add a series to My Stuff on Hulu, the service would auto-record any new airings. Now if you place a show in My Shows, you get to choose between automatic recordings of new episodes, or just keep track of it in the My Shows tab.
Other little updates are being implemented as well, but this is the biggest. Not everyone will get the new DVR options right off the bat. These new features are currently available on:
- Apple TV (4th gen)
- Fire TV
- Nintendo Switch
- Samsung Smart TVs (2017 and newer models)
