More news just broke on the Disney streaming service situation. After ending their partnership with Netflix earlier this year when the House of the Mouse announced that they would not renew their contract after 2018, Disney started pulling their content from the streaming giant.
All of this has been done to make room for a new streaming service. Slowly, more details have become available on what looks like to be a 2019 launch date. One of the major details is that the service will stream 4 to 5 original movies throughout the year.
Disney CEO, Bob Iger spoke at an investor call stating,
“Our advantage as a company is to take advantages that exist out there for good television and take advantage of it.”
One of those markings of good television is a live action Star Wars series that has also been confirmed.Other shows expected to join the service include a Monsters, Inc. and High School Musical show, plus other live-action serieses based on the Marvel franchise.
