Hulu gave media outlets an unprecedented look at their numbers this past week. They released an in-depth analysis on how their viewership during the annual March Madness tournament as compared to the regular season games. The streaming service saw an increase in viewership of 67%. In total, the viewership of college basketball jumped 235% during the first week it aired on Hulu.
This is a big departure from last year’s March Madness numbers for Amazon. What made the Hulu experience so different is that they helped hype up the tournament with their Selection Sunday process.
