Stanley Cup season is here. Now more than ever, you don’t need an expensive cable package to be in on all the fun. There are many ways to watch the NHL postseason if you are a cord-cutter. Here’s how:
NBC
NBC is the place to be for most of the Playoff Games. After the success of running their sports app during the Olympics, they are set to do it again. While on the NBC app, you can also check out classic TV shows for free there as well.
Antenna
Antennas have come a long way from the days of tin foil. If the app isn’t your thing, perhaps an antenna can be. Go to AntennaRecommendations.com to find the NBC signal for your outdoor antenna.
Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV
These three devices need to have the following apps downloaded:
- CNBC
- The Golf Channel
- NBC
- NBCSN
- NHL Network
- USA Network
Sling TV
This is the cheapest of the paid subscription services if you are an NHL fan. With the Blue Package, you need to have the Sports Add-On and News Add-On for $40 a month. That will cover all the channels listed above. See if it’s right for you by signing up for the Sling TV 7-day free trial.
DIRECTV NOW
This runs at $60 per month, but has all the channels listed above. However, if you are an AT&T Unlimited Subscriber, you are eligible for a $15 discount, bringing the bill total to $45. Like Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW also has a 7-day free trial.
