Amazon Backs Out of Live TV Competition

With Sling TV, Hulu, and DIRECTV NOW already vying for the cord-cutters, Amazon has decided to let them all duke it out.

In a report conducted by Reuters, Amazon planned on building a live television stream based off of their Amazon Channels service.

However, Amazon was unable to procure more networks to make their livestreams an a la carte option on the Amazon Channels service.

Amazon also tinkered around with the idea of launching a streaming bundle much like the livestream competitors also provide. The skinny bundle would offer limited cable network options at a set reduced monthly fee. This idea has also been ditched by Amazon.
