For the third year in the row, it’s the Golden State Warriors against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Last night was the first game of the NBA Finals. If you have Sling TV you probably missed it.
In order to combat the fact that Sling TV does not have many local affiliates, subscribers to the streaming service who join the $20 a month “Orange” tier were informed that the game would be available on ESPN 3.
With a 9 PM tipoff, Sling TV subscribers turned to ESPN 3 for the first game in a long-standing and heated rivalry between the NBA’s best. However, they were met with a dreaded error.
After an hour of complaints, Sling TV told it’s Orange members to log into WatchESPN with their Sling credentials in order to watch the game. However, Twitter was still not amused.
Around midnight, the problem was remedied on Sling TV’s end, but still left a foul-taste in some customer’s mouths:
