Slowly, hooking your laptop with an HDMI cord to your television is becoming obsolete. Using apps to view content has grown 136% over the past year. This has lead to huge numbers for the like of Apple TV and Roku. Apple TV saw a whopping 709% growth over the last year, while Roku had an 87% increase in viewing hours. Lastly, Android has also seen an uptick in viewership as their devices has eclipsed an 168% increase in plays quarter-over-quarter.
