Prime Video Extending Global Reach

Prime Video continues its attempts to rebrand their service. First came the name change. Then they made their intentions know that they were going global. This was followed up by branching out to India. Now, they are dipping their toes into French waters.

While the streaming service launched Prime Video in 2016, they have just acquired over 40 buzzworthy French series and films. The Seattle-based company has entered lucrative partnerships with:

  • AB Droits
  • About Premium Conten
  • Audiovisuels
  • The Bureau Sales
  • EuropaCorp
  • France TV Distribution
  • Newen Distribution
  • TF1 Droits Audiovisuels

Jay Marine, Vice President of Prime Video Europe, spoke on these huge partnerships,

“We are thrilled to partner with such respected French content creators and distributors and will continue to add leading content to Prime Video in France.”

Content acquired includes the following TV shows:

  • Captain Sharif (cop show)

  • Desperate Parents (family comedy)
  • A French Village (WWII set series)
  • Rita (remake of popular show)
  • Sam (popular TV series)

And the following movies:

  • Love at First Fight
  • Populaire
  • The Class
  • Seraphine

CEO of France TV Distribution, Julien Vereley, who oversees shows like the aforementioned Captain Sharif, remarked on this deal,

“We are pleased to be part of this partnership with Prime Video which maximizes the exposure of French work and original content.”
