PlayStation Vue is making sure that you are able to watch your shows on-the-go. The video game console-turned-streaming device received a major update over the last few days. This update lifts the restrictions that were placed on watching shows and movies through your account when you were “Out of Home.”
With this new ban lifted, you can access your account and watch your favorite shows and movies wherever you are. PlayStation Vue sent an e-mail covering some changes stemming from this update:
No more Out of Home viewing restrictions. Watch more programming on your mobile phone while you’re out of your home or even traveling.
Traveling? Watch the locally available channels live where you’re visiting, while you still DVR your home local channels.
And no matter where you are in the country, you can now keep watching programming from your home regional sports networks.
As of right now, this is a mobile only venture. You cannot access PlayStation Vue through the following devices outside of your household:
- Apple TV
- Fire TV
Like we mentioned, this update is only for mobile devices. Prior to this update you needed to sync your mobile device up to the home network in order to stream. Now, you just need any wi-fi or data account in order to watch on your phone.
These updates come on the heels of PlayStation Vue announcing a change to their profile procedures and DVR services. The company also continues to add more local affiliates. As a matter of fact, this latest update is supposed to support these local markets outside of the home as well.
