New Study Looks at Consumers’ Streaming Service Loyalty

There is no question that the streaming service pond is starting to become a lake that’s quickly evolving into a river. Right now, there’s a service for almost every niche swimming at the bottom and at the top are a few sharks.

The one streaming service above them all s Netflix. And then there’s…everyone else. Based on data research by a firm called Second Measure, the company Statista created this graph to represent the findings of the study:

Now, this is not a measurement of the number of subscribers (which Netflix also leads), but this is a chart of customer exclusivity. This represents how many people subscribe to each of the above as their own means of streaming television.

Many of this information can be ascribed to the fact that Netflix has a long-standing history of popular content with Orange is the New Black and Making a Murderer really putting the company on the map.

However, it will be interesting to see how long this Netflix stronghold lasts after Hulu made a killing at the Emmy’s for their hit, Handmaid’s Tale.
