New DVR Options for DIRECTVNOW Beta

It seems like we have been waiting forever for the official roll-out of DIRECTV NOW’s DVR system. However, the beta testing market keeps growing instead. Instead of becoming available to the masses, DIRECTV NOW is still making changes to its beta system. This weekend, they implemented even more.

The parent company of DIRECTV NOW, AT&T, added a new feature that allows subscribers to manage which episodes of a series are recorded, and how many recordings in total they want to keep.

As you set up a DVR recording on select beta accounts, the options to record All Episodes or just New Episodes are now available. This gives you the chance to customize your DVR experience.

Also, you can let DIRECTV NOW DVR know how many recordings you want them to store before they start to delete shows to make room in storage. These options include:

  • 3 recordings
  • 5 recordings
  • 10 recordings
  • 15 recordings

As of right now, just Android TV and Fire TV devices have these new settings. However, like DIRECTV NOW DVR in general, these new features are just in the beta phase…of the beta phase. So, more beta testers should get these options soon.
