Hulu Live TV Is Here. Now What?

Streaming megaforce, Hulu, officially launched a beta version of its live TV venture this month. Boasting over 50 channels, Hulu brings the cord-cutting community the ability to watch, record, and binge all in one cozy package for $39.99 a month.

What sets Hulu Live TV apart from other services in the ever-growing streaming community is its ability to showcase live sports content. This is the Achilles’ heel of other cord-cutting juggernauts such as Amazon and Netflix. As great as The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is, it doesn’t quite scratch the itch that football fans get every Sunday.

What further distinguishes Hulu Live TV from their other competitors such as Sling TV and Playstation Vue is that the app also comes equipped with Hulu’s vast on-demand library. So if you’re favorite team is letting you down, you can offset the pain with an old episode of the Big Bang Theory.

Hulu Live TV also offers a DVR service that is unavailable in other live TV streaming packages. The $39.99 per month plan gives you 50 hours of Cloud storage. So now you can go on a horrible blind date and still catch up with The Bachelorette and a bottle of wine when you come home. If 50 hours isn’t enough, there is an add-on of 200 hours of Cloud space for $14.99 per month.

As we mentioned, this is in the beta stages. That means the product is still evolving. Since its initial launch, the app has already added little improvements such as “All caught up” badges on already watched episodes, as well as alerts about favorite shows.
