Planning on being re-branded as Sony Crackle in the spingtime 2018, the service is looking to expand all around. As explained by Eric, Berger, the Executive CP of Sony Pictures Network Television,
“Our goal is to lean in on the power of what Sony stands for.”
First up? New content. Sony Crackle will partner with famed producers, Gary Oldman and Douglas Ubranski to produce an original drama being called The Butcher. A synopsis points to this show as a modern story that follows, “One man’s epic investigation to find, hunt down, and kill a serial killer who lives among us — someone who is very human, but also beyond human.”
Also scheduled for this new Sony Crackle roll-out is the third season of the Crackle Original, StartUp.
