While we continue to follow the local affiliation acquisition struggle between all the major networks, a couple of days ago we shared how PlayStation Vue just added a bunch of NBC local affiliates. Just one day later, they drop 14 local FOX affiliates. These particular affiliates are the stations ran under the “Tribune” umbrella.
The news of this dissolution also comes on the heels of Disney buying a huge stake in FOX. Disney has also started to pull all of their content off of Netflix.
However, this could all be a coincidence. Not to mention, PlayStation Vue and FOX – Tribune can come to an agreement. In the meantime, at least 14 Fox – Tribune stations have been pulled from PlayStation Vue, making this is the first time a streaming service has blacked out a network.
